Mini Assignment #2: Guest Post feat. Peter Parker

Sam Raimi's Peter Parker sitting in a car with a grin on his face

Hey everyone! My name is Peter Parker, and I’m taking over this 2 A.M. to contemplate life as a full-time high school student and aspiring professional photographer.

I will say, writing isn’t much my thing. I’m more of a photography kind of guy if you couldn’t already tell, but this one is just for you guys.

It’s no easy task being a high school student. You have to deal with classes and the usual hallway bully—Flash *cough*—from time to time, but don’t worry. I don’t let any of that get to me.

Any of the sciences have got to be my favourite classes, and calculus is not too far behind that. But we all know that school is a stressful time no matter what. I’m just happy that I get to see my best friend, Harry, and my neighbour, Mary Jane, every day.

I live in Queens, New York City so school is just about a short walk away from home and everything else I need. Outside of school, I’m a freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle newspaper. If you’re familiar with the paper, keep an eye out for my work. I’ve currently got a few shots circulating on the notorious neighbourhood hero, Spider-Man.

I’m still trying to figure out what to do with my life. There’s so much I want to do but so much to deal with at the same time. This Spider-Man gig I’ve got going with the Bugle is great and all, but people just don’t seem to get this guy’s intentions.

This man is a hero, and I want to showcase that. But apparently that doesn’t seem to impress anyone—surely not Jameson. I’ve got the best photos of Spidey himself and he’s still painted to be the bad guy. What does it take to give the guy the credit he deserves??

Anyway, those are my two cents for the day. I’m hoping for the best with this last semester and hopefully some more shots of our neighbourhood hero will get me some credibility at the Bugle. As my Uncle Ben always says—with great power comes great responsibility.
